Meet Our Leaders

Redeemer is congregational in nature and led by a plurality of elders. The operational leadership of the church is made up of elders, deacons, and staff. At Redeemer, the congregation is the place from which the elders are selected. The congregation affirms or opposes the selection of new elders as presented to the church by the current elders. The congregation also affirms or opposes recommendations the elders bring to the church regarding major decisions the church must make. The members of the congregation carry out the work of the ministry in the church and in the world.

Elders

The elders serve the church by giving spiritual oversight and direction to the church. The scope of responsibility of the elders includes church doctrine, the vision and mission of the church, oversight of churches ministries, accountability for all church leadership, shepherding the congregation through prayer and the ministry of the word, and major decisions effecting the life of the church. The biblical basis and criteria for selection of elders is I Timothy 3 and Titus 1.

Deacons

Deacons give practical ministry and service to the congregation. Church members serving in various ministries and rendering various services to one another carry out the heart of ministry. Deacons are chosen on the basis of the qualifications set forth in 1 Timothy 3:8-13 and are accountable to the elders

Staff

The church staff consists of leaders who oversee various aspects of church life. These leaders derive income from the church as compensation for the time they give to serve the congregation. All members of the church staff are servants of the church and accountable to the elders.
